This site has a purpose – to rally the support of the business community for a High Speed Rail link from London to Scotland’s Central Belt. The idea can only become reality if it is truly beneficial to ALL in terms of:- Comfort, Cost, Convenience, Consumer Procurement and CO2 reduction. And if you to see that these deliverables are achievable, all that is required of you, is that your opinion is shown on the HS2S Poll.

IMPORTANT* Transport network seeks views on high-speed rail extension options
The RTPI transport planning network is seeking members’ views on key transport topics.
This month’s hot topic is High Speed 2 (HS2) – has the DfT got it right? Transport minister Lord Adonis has expanded HS2′s remit to look at options for extending high-speed rail beyond the West Midlands to the north of England and Scotland. A report on route options is expected from the DfT by the end of the year, with the aim of being sufficiently developed for a public consultation on a proposal for the London-West Midlands route during 2010.
We do not believe Scotland’s needs are seen as a priority – despite their offering the best payback of any of the work so far proposed. Help our campaign by voicing your concerns:
- Please email your views to transport@rtpi.org.uk by 1 May 2010 Thank you.
